Monitoring Fukushima

Greenpeace have been monitoring the contamination levels at locations around Fukushima prefecture since the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants in March 2011, in order to assess the risks radioactive contamination in the environment and food chain poses to the population, and to create an independent record of the ongoing nuclear disaster.

Greenpeace believe honest, transparent and independent analysis will provide an alternative to the information released by nuclear regulators since the events at Fukushima began unfolding.

Natural Graphic was asked to help convert spreadsheets of data collected throughout the area into an interactive google map to be presented on the Greenpeace website.
