Consumer website for Greenpeace
Greenpeace asked Natural Graphic to assist them in creating an interactive map to present data collected after the nuclear meltdown in Fukushima in 2011.
Greenpeace have been conducting research around Fukushima prefecture in Japan since the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants in March 2011.
Natural Graphic was asked to help create an application that could be used to present various data via bespoke interactive Google Maps, alongside table-based alternate views, and spreadsheet downloads.
The application is based upon the initial work we did for Greenpeace relating to the incident in Fukushima, but the brief called for it to be flexible enough to be used in other situations.
Using this application, any number of maps may be created. Sets of data are easily managed and updated, including customised marker pins. There is also an iPhone/mobile interface which allows researchers on the ground to use their GPS enabled iPhones to automatically get GPS co-ordinates for their location whilst they are inputting data.
